I will be getting a puppy this summer so I can housebreak it before i move into an apartment and I am thinking about getting a Pomeranian. I will be a senior next year and will be gone from 8 am – 3 pm. Maybe even 4. I already planned on giving it walks once I get home. If I train it good, do you think it will still be a problem if I am gone? My parents will be here, but after my senior year I will be moving and I may go to college or just become a firefighter. Can I bring it to the job? What do you think. Should I consider getting a different dog? If so what. I want a small dog that is easy to take car of and can live inside for a few years. I don’t want a terrier or chihuahua. I want a relatively small dog, one that doesn’t eat much with a happy go lucky personality. I am okay with exercise, just as long as a walk or run a day will work. I want a dog who doesn’t bark much, but is alert and kind of independent. What do you think?

Hey guys, I have a question.

I’m a high school senior, who is taking a number of hard classes.

Anyways, I get home at about 4:00 PM each day, and I pass out on my bed until about 7:00 PM or 8:00 PM. And then, I eat dinner and do my homework for the next day.

I’m usually done with the homework by 1:00 AM if I’m lucky and 4:00 AM if I’m not lucky. However, I don’t feel tired at all when I’m working until 4:00 AM. I feel alert and productive. In fact, it even takes me a while to sleep once I finish everything.

I wake up at 8:00 AM and go to school… and the cycle continues…

Should I take my after school naps?

(Note: If I don’t take my after school naps, I’m tired and sluggish; however, I would get more hours of sleep.)

I have a serious heart felt problem. I have a year old dog named Poochi who i’ve had since he was born. He is my world! Well im a senior in high school and this upcoming fall 2010 i plan on going away to college. The problem is most colleges don’t allow dogs or cats or any type of pet really (but stupid fish) I cant leave him home because my family is highly disorganized and dysfunctional and bottom line i know for a fact they wont take good care of him. They wont take care of him at all. Even currently i come home from school and hes changed in my room starving until i feed him again. (I feed him before i leave at 6 am and get home between 6 and 7pm) No one else feeds or walks or takes cares of him.Because of this my dog has grown super attached to me. Anywhere i go he does. I dont need a leash, because he stays by me at all times. (He wears a leash anyway cause i dont trust people lol) There have been several times when we have taken walks at night with no one around without his leash or anything and although he stops to pee he barks to alert me before doing so. okay too much info on my dog,back to my problem.I CAN NOT by ANY means leave him here and i dont have any relatives i can leave him with. The fact of the matter is that hes IS a dog..and he DOES bark when he wants attention. So i know that if i go to college and hes here at home he will bark for months none stop. Even now as i sit on my computer typing he is barking at me to get my attention. Please help. I am in a serious crisis and i have no idea what to do.

My dad doesn’t want me to wear niqab because he feels it is unsafe. He asked the senior imam at the mesjid about it and the Imam said that the Prophet Wives and Daughter was distinct and different from other women. They could ONLY wear niqab because of their social status. I disputed this by saying that Aish’a would wear niqab when strange men approached her and the Prophet’s SAW camel on journeys. She would also wear niqab on hajj. Also, its more modest. Also, the 2 generations after the Prophet SAW and Prophet Muhammad’s generation were of the best muslims. By this, I told him that as women we should imitate them. HE said that God only told women to cover their hair, and not face. I told him that Muhammad SAW didn’t forbid niqab. The qur’an tells us to allow what Muhammad SAW allowed and to forbid what he forbade. He said that ultimately its my choice and only God knows. Also, this other woman at our table said, "They wore it because dessert sand got into their eyes and its hard to drive with niqab on while driving". Well, when the veiling verse was revealed, the women weren’t in the dessert. They were in their homes.

I want to wear niqab, but my dad would not allow me to wear it in his house. Insha’allah, I plan on wearing niqab when I go to college in a few months. I already wear hijab, skirts, and abayas. I just want to go further in imitating the BEST muslims which are the SALAFS!

For my senior project in my college I want to build an EEG to detect certain brain patterns. More specifically I want to detect Theta waves in order to alert the user that he or she is in danger of falling a sleep.

I’m having a real hard time deciding where to start building. I just don’t know what are all the parts that I need.

I’ve looked at models on EBAY and they are about 2000 dollars so that is out of the question. I know all the electronics do cost a 1/4 of the price, it’s only expensive because of all the work that goes into it.

So here is what I figured out so far.
-Electrodes to detect
-ear buds for the alarm

It’s all the in between things where I’m having difficulties.

I’m not heavy into programming so I’m not going to write thousands of line of code on a microprocessor. What I plan to use is computer software like LabView, which is more of a graphical and visual programming tool, and let it do all the processing.

I do want to filter the signal before it goes into LabView so I guess I’ll need some analog filter circuitry to clean up the signal.

So what else should I include?
-power supply?

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

im 17, and in high school. getting my license in june (was suppose to have it by now but because of my difficult parents i dont) i have to get it then because my permit expires soon anyway.

we had testing at school today and im a junior, we got out early. the seniors werent in school so we got to use the senior parking lot. i couldnt drive and i was really upset because pretty much everyone drives to school now and im the only one that has to take the bus or have my dad drive me. i mean i know i have to suck it up and deal with it not only is it embarassing, i just like being independent and i dont like depending on other people.

my friends ask me if i want a ride home but i only go home with them once in a while becuase i feel bad and its not their responsibility to make sure i get home. i should be able to drive. i mean i have great friends who offer but u know i cant go with them everyday they shouldnt have to be my taxi to and from school lol. and i dont expect them to be.

im very responsible, have had a job all through junior year and still keeping my grades up and i use my own money for most of my things whether its going out with friends, or other stuff. i got a new phone a month ago and i paid for it myself.

they still dont trust me with anything.im also a good driver. i dont excessively speed and i dont blast my music, always alert.

how do i convince them?
