Some jobs in healthcare do not require certification or licensing.
Activities departments in nursing homes, geriatric aides (sometimes), level 3 and 4 residential homes, and most jobs working with mentally handicapped adults or children don't need certification, just training which they offer. Go to nursing homes and mental health agencies and ask about jobs they have. I'm sure you will find something.

well these days you need to be certified to care for them like you want to. i certainly wouldnt want someone assisting my grandmother that isnt certified.

You may need to be certified to do it.
I just finished my STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant) class in Ohio, but I still have to take the state exam for my certificate.
I needed the class as a prerequisite for the LPN program I'm applying to.
It wasn't too expensive (less than $600) and only took about 12 weeks (two 4 hour classes a week for about 10 weeks and three 4 hour clinicals at a nursing home)
If you really like working with people then this is the job for you.
Ask at a nursing home what they require. Some will even pay for your classes.

Some companies even will pay for your training if you agree to work for them afterward. Maybe contact a local agency on aging or the nursing homes and see if they can send you in the right direction.
