Hello. Im a senior in high school. i haven’t really been a very motivated student academically throughout high school, but i wouldn’t call myself a slacker. i have about a 3.1 gpa and an sat score of i believe a 1400 (i know its bad). Ive applied to a few colleges so far all of which have been out of my reach. i want a careere somewhere along the lines of film making, but im not really sure what. I dont want to be in tv production. my question is, does anybody know of any decent film schools or universities that offer a film course that are somewhat lenient when it comes to academic success in high school. im really trying to get my life in order and doing my best to avoid going to a community college. Please any ideas im lost

January 10th, 2010 at 7:02 amYour GPA and SAT seem to be lacking, but you can still apply to colleges that seem to be in your reach and even out of reach, you never know. And once you get in, do really well, don’t slack off, it’s the rest of your life now, maybe then you can transfer to one of the top film schools or something like that. In my opinion if you can’t seem to get into a university, you could always prove yourself at a community college and that way you can transfer to a good university after completing your generals and getting good grades.

P.S. don’t jump into college either. Make sure you KNOW what you want to do and make sure you KNOW you can do it without slacking. If you mess up in college, your grades will follow you around forever, you cannot erase anything on your college transcript, prepare yourself first and then go.
