I need advice on how to deal with the future?

<< when should i get my new puppy?  What does Jim Carry, Aspergers autism, and his adoptive son all have in common? >>

I’m 19 years old and a student at a community college. I have a hard-core passion for (american) football. I didn’t start to like football until my senior year in high school. I now love the sport and never can get enough of football. I didn’t try out for football when I was in high school; because I just wasn’t into it back then.

Now I regretting the fact that I didn’t like football back then. I plan to tranfer to a university in the future (hopefully in a few years). I know that I’m going to want to try-out for the football team, but I don’t have the experience. It sucks, I love football but don’t have what it takes to try-out for the team. If I do try-out for the team, I probably won’t make them.

I hate myself for this regret. I’m having a hard time making guy friends; so it’s not like I have friends who can teach me the sport. I feel like a failure. I’ll never forgive myself for this. I’m still trying to make friends with guys who are football fans, but it’s not easy.

It’s never too late to try and do anything. All they can do is tell you no. If it doesn’t work out, you can always go for a degree in something like sports broadcasting or sports management to keep you near the game.
