when should i get my new puppy?
so im gonna get a Bichon Frise i just need to know when would be the best time to get it according to my life style
Im a Senior in highschool and live at home with my parents and i get out of school at 3 and if we got it now my parents would come home every 3 hours to let it out. im just concerned that the training might take longer since no one is home all day and i dont want her to be lonely.
I graduate in May and ill have all summer where i will be at the house most of the time i may have a part time job. Regardless i will spend all of my time with the new dog and my parents will help with training, but when should i get it?
Id like to get it as soon as possible so i was thinking around my birthday in december or valentines day or wait till graduation. I will also be going to the community college in my town and ill be living at home so the dog wont go anywhere he wont be moving. and my college classes are scheduled to get over around 12 noon so id have most of the day with her there…

I would wait until after you graduate. If you call it your graduation present, your parents may help with the cost. That way you will have more freedom during the summer to work on basic training. If you really want to get it sooner, I would wait until either winter or spring break. It would give you a week or two to focus on getting the dog settled in.
Consider adoption, bichons end up in shelters all the time. If you adopt an older dog, it will be less difficult to train and leave at home alone. http://www.petfinder.com can show you dogs in your area.
