Do I have a chance at getting into a good school?

<< How is community college like?  How do I transfer to Oxford University? >>

I am hoping for some advice as whether or not I am on the right track for college. Here is all of my information, I know it is a lot but I figured I might as well be thorough.

I am a junior and live in NC.
I have been home schooled my entire life.

ECs:
I have a working student under the UNC-Chapel Hill Equestrian team coach/PE Teacher for the past 5 years.

I have had 2 jobs since I was 15.

I was on my Church’s youth Council for 4 years, VP for 1 year, I expect to president senior year.

I’ve been teaching beginner riding at a summer camp for the past 3 years.

I’ve bought, cared for and trained my horse (ex-racehorse) from the ground up with no financial help from my parents. I am very committed to her and that is where the majority of my time is spent out side of school.

I am taking classes at a local community college and I’ve gotten all A’s (Biology, Chemistry, intro Sociology, intro Business) I expect to do just as well in my classes this fall.

My SAT scores are not great (1810, CR:700, M:520 WR:590 E:8) but I will be taking it again in Oct so I hope to get the math up to 600 and the writing to 650.

My GPA is currently about a 3.7 but I am trying to bring it up before the end of the year.

Recommendation letters will be from my Trainer (UNC PE teacher/coach) and my Sociology teacher (from the CC) both I expect to be excellent.

I will NOT need financial aid, my mom got her graduates degree and my grandfather got his graduates and pharmaceutical degree at UNC.

My goal is to eventually get into UNC’s Pharmacy school.

The schools I’m looking at are UNC-CH, NC State, VA Tech, Appalachian, UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, Campbell University.

Thanks to anyone willing to chance me or give me any advice!

    Ridiculous Says:

after you bring up your SATs, i think you will have a decent shot at most of those schools and an okay chance at unc-chapel hill (since it’s considered a public ivy), but your family ties to the school may help. if your science grades are high, and you can write really good essays, then you have a decent shot. i would suggest taking more AP courses, but you also already have college work completed at the CC, so maybe you’re okay.
