<< Vegetarian Thanksgiving options?  Do I have a chance at getting into a good school? >>

I am a high school senior and I am looking to go to Nassau Community College, And I have herd a lot about college life such as 1500 word Research projects due in 2 days almost all the time for homework and reading whole novels in a day. just a lot of work all the time always studying and I just want to know what a couple of days or months is like for a college student. Is it very stressful?

I almost have my associates degree from a community college and I can tell you that isn’t true at all. If you have to do a research paper you will be given ample time to complete it. For instance, I had six weeks to finish one, an easy one at that. To be honest it is a lot like high school, if not easier. You need to study a few times a week to make good grades and pass, but it doesn’t take up all your time. I was lazy when I first started..I have passed classes without studying at all, but I got low grades (although passing) so I wouldn’t recommend doing that..I study more now so I am doing good even though I am not a "school person"..anyway don’t let anyone try to scare you from going, just try it and you will see.

that stuff sometimes happens but it is rare, and community college is easy.

No, that’s B.S. It is a lot of fun and there are tons of babes! Reason enough in and of itself to go IMHO. (Garth: "Party on, Wayne." Wayne: "Party on, Garth.")

No. If you got Cs in High School, you will get Cs and Ds at Nassau.

Community college is a lot easier than the university. The 1500 word essays are few and far between. Believe me it isn’t that difficult. The general rule for college is get your butt to class. That was the hardest thing for me to do. The work is not hard, the hard part is going everyday when no one is making you. Don’t worry you’ll do fine,

I’m in CC. It’s very easy transitioning from high school to CC, especially if you’re just commuting. It’s like going to 13th grade. I don’t have mcuh homework and nothing hard like what you described. The hardest thing I’ve had is a 5 page paper and I had over a month to work on it (though I did it in about 2 weeks). There are labs for most every subject if you’re struggling. I study some but I have plenty of time for other things. It’s only stressful if you don’t manage your time well. The biggest change is you have a little more control and if your teachers aren’t being helpful, you may have to be persistent and complain to someone about it (often in high school there isn’t much you can do about it).
