Do you think that I can get into Brown University?
I need your suggestions…
I am dying to go into the Brown University.
I am going to be a junior and finally realized my dream college.
do you think that I might be able to get into Brown?
here’s what I have done so far
Freshman:
spanish 1 (B+)
honors biology (A-)
honors language arts (B)
AP human geography (B) (passed the ap test)
Algebra 2 (B-)
J.V. golf (MVP)
Sophomore
spanish 2 (B)
honors chemistry (B)
AP european history (B)
Trig/ math analysis (B)
honors language arts (A)
Varsity golf (CIF)
academic decathlon
here’s what I am planning to take
Junior
spanish 3
I.B. language arts
AP american history
I.B. Math methods
theory of knowledge
I.B. and AP economics
golf varsity
academic decathlon
MESA competition
NHS
CSF
Senior
AP and I.B. spanish
AP and I.B. chem
I.B. language arts
I.B. (can’t remember to name of this history class >:O)
varsity golf (team captain and MVP…most likely)
NHS
academic decathlon
CSF
now that I know where I want to go for college I am going to do my best during my junior and senior year.
so far I have 125 hours of community service.
Do you think that this is enough to get into Brown University?
what other extra activities do you think I should partake?
*OH! I also play the flute but didn’t do anything with it…but I love playing. any suggestions on where to incorporate this talent?

Flute: send them a cd of you playing the songs… That will help a lot… Try to get more leadership positions… The only problem now is that your GPA is a bit low… Try for B+ or higher…
November 7th, 2009 at 11:52 amGood job on the extracurriculars and community service, not only b/c it will look good on your college essays and resume and such, but b/c you helped people out and got to be a part of something other than homework. My honest opinion is that your grades (especially the B’s) will be detrimental towards getting into Brown. Epecially since they were in your freshman and sophomore year when the subjects are easier and not at the most advanced level. But don’t give up hope, keep trying and dfefinitely apply, you never know!
