Rather than play games with legislation to get elected could Congress address issues that affect my daily life

<< What kind of college can I get into? Stony Brook University?  Senior pending NY Medicaid: Can I give a room in my house to an unemployed friend and not count her assets? >>

Having a bill on health care for kids so the democrats can go home and say but i tried to pass a bill and jump up and down so they can get re-elected, so that the republicans can go home and say i fought the evil democrats and jump up and down so they can get re-elected,

how about congress actually address some problems and pass some real solutions,

-Schools falling apart, out of date textbooks, teachers not certified in the subjects they teach

-Senior citizens cutting their pills in half, and don’t gimme that spin that some doctors told their patients to do that you know what I’m talking about it was that or no groceries

-How about that exit strategy for Iraq

-Wheres Bin Laden

-How many illegal immigrants came over into my country today?

Could we get a bill that cracks down on illegal immigration or well we see more of the stupid game of heh my version of the bill didn’t pass.

Our countrys being invaded

They have been corrupted by the special interest groups, the media, money, and money, and more money. I so agree with what you are saying. It’s like they are more willing to sacrifice their own people,(us) in favor of helping other governments all over the world. There is so much in-fighting in congress, that they can’t accomplish anything. It seems that their common sense goes out the window as soon as they are elected, and they can’t find a way come together for the greater good.

I think congress has gotten too big for it’s own britches. It’s time to vote them all out, and get some real people in there that actually know how to run a business, know what it’s like to be poor, and in the middle class (working poor), not have health insurance, and have to live paycheck, to paycheck, and having to rob Peter to pay Paul. People that will not allow themselves to be corrupted once they get there.

Is it possible? Hard to say. But… if we the people don’t stand up for ourselves, and get out there and vote, and actually pay attention to what the candidates have to say, (if that’s possible with all the biased news channels these days) and do something about what is going on in Washington, then we only have ourselves to blame, for being apathetic, and allowing it to continue. We have the ability to change things, if, and only if, we all come together as a nation and demand that the changes be made. We have the ability to vote against the guys we think are not doing their jobs, and get someone to replace them.

It would be nice if it didn’t cost so much to run a campaign, and I think that is part of what holds people back. They think only the rich can afford to run for office. Not true. If people agree with what you want to do, they will support you. I think a lot of people are very fed up with our congress and it’s inability to make any common sense decisions.

It’s going to be a very interesting election in 2008. I just hope we don’t have any debacles like we had in Florida with Bush and Gore.

ha.. almost finished. Its business as usual.. regardless of which party has control. The name of the game is getting elected and staying in office. For the amount of time they actually spend in office, they have to spend nearly half of that time, ir so it seems, campaignin and raising money.

I would prefer our system to any other, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved tremendously.
